The NYOTA Project confirmed that its final round of Business Support classroom training begins today, Wednesday, November 26, and runs until Saturday, November 29. The sessions will take place in constituency headquarters across Garissa, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kwale, Lamu, Mandera, Marsabit, Mombasa, Murang’a, Nairobi City, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Samburu, Taita Taveta, Tana River, and Wajir counties.

“The Nyota Project will roll out the Business Support component Classroom training in the last cohort covering 17 counties from Central Kenya, Nairobi, North Eastern, and Coastal regions,” the project stated.

With this phase, the project will have covered 46 counties, with only Elgeyo Marakwet pending due to landslides. Training will be scheduled at a later date.

NYOTA Project reported that 42,735 trainees have been invited for this final classroom phase, spread across 510 wards, in line with the requirement of 70 trainees per ward. Participants must attend at least three of the four training days in their selected constituency to qualify for the business grant.

“The selected beneficiaries for the classroom training have been contacted directly and are required to attend at least 3 out of the 4 days in their respective constituencies to qualify for the disbursement of the business grant,” the project said.

All constituency training centres are ready to host participants and facilitate the subsequent disbursement of start-up capital.

Last week, the YOTA Project held training in 25 counties, including Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Uasin Gishu, Trans-Nzoia, West Pokot, Turkana, Baringo, Laikipia, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Isiolo, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Nandi, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, and Bomet. Hundreds of wards and constituencies were represented in the sessions.

“This brought together beneficiaries drawn from 151 constituencies and 754 wards,” the project stated.

The final phase this week marks the completion of the NYOTA Project’s nationwide Business Support training rollout, offering thousands of young entrepreneurs practical skills and financial support to grow their businesses.
