A woman in Kisumu County is counting her blessings after surviving a lightning strike that hit her home during a violent storm on Wednesday night. The rare incident happened in Nyahera village, a few kilometers from Lake Victoria, and left residents shaken as thunder and heavy rain battered the region.
According to neighbors, the lightning bolt struck a tree beside the woman’s house before bursting into bright sparks that spread across the compound. Villagers said they rushed to her aid after hearing a loud explosion followed by screams. The woman, identified as 34-year-old Pamela Atieno, was found lying on the floor but breathing and conscious.
