The Kasarani Stadium was shaken when Félicité Mantasoa fired home in the 9th minute, putting Madagascar ahead and silencing sections of the Moroccan supporters.
Morocco regrouped and slowly took control. Youssef Mehri levelled the score in the 27th minute with a calm finish. Just before half-time, Oussama Lamlioui struck to make it 2-1 in favour of the Atlas Lions.
The islanders showed great spirit. In the 68th minute, Toky Rakotondraibe equalised, sparking fresh hope for Madagascar’s fans who were making their first appearance in a CHAN final.
With the game heading for a nervy finish, Lamlioui stepped up again. His decisive strike in the 80th minute gave Morocco a 3-2 lead, sealing the victory and completing his brace.
At the final whistle, Moroccan fans celebrated wildly as their team lifted the CHAN 2024 trophy. The win confirmed Morocco’s growing dominance in African football and added another historic chapter to their achievements.
