- The two officers accused of stealing and slaughtering a cow have been transferred.
- They were posted to Kibich, a remote area near the Ethiopian border.
- Kibich is approximately 330km from Ethiopia’s nearest water zones.
- One officer was overheard complaining about the transfer.
- Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen insists such transfers are not a punishment.
Following their court appearance and release on bail, the two officers, Chrispus Murakhi Butali and Samwel Mbugua Njuguna, have now been transferred to Kibich, a remote and rugged outpost near the Kenya-Ethiopia border.
Sources indicate the area is about 330 kilometres from the closest Ethiopian water bodies, highlighting the harsh nature of the post.

Witnesses report that one of the officers was heard complaining bitterly about the relocation, suggesting it was meant as punishment following their arrest.
However, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has dismissed those claims, stating:
“Transfer to operational areas is part of normal duty rotation. It is not a punishment.”
The move comes amid growing public scrutiny after the officers were charged with stock theft and slaughtering a cow reported missing at Kaptagat Police Station.
