🛑 Government Takes Action Against Alliance Girls Teacher Accused of Abuse
  • Teacher at Alliance Girls High School to be interdicted and prosecuted over sexual abuse claims.
  • PS Julius Bitok confirms collaboration with TSC and police for swift action.
  • Allegations stem from an Africa Uncensored exposé showing abuse dating back to 2018 and 2021.
  • Teacher allegedly used position as Christian Union patron to groom and exploit students.
  • Alumni and FIDA Kenya demand justice, reforms, and stronger protection policies in schools.

Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr. Julius Bitok has confirmed that the teacher accused of sexually grooming and abusing students at Alliance Girls High School will be interdicted and prosecuted.

Speaking on Thursday at a school event in Nandi County, Bitok said the government is coordinating efforts with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and police to ensure immediate disciplinary and legal action.

“That teacher is going to be punished. We have talked to TSC and all the other stakeholders to ensure that he is arrested.”

The move comes after a damning investigation by Africa Uncensored, which revealed how the teacher, serving as the Christian Union patron, exploited his spiritual authority to groom and prey on students.

The report includes testimonies from over two dozen former students and staff, some dating back to 2018 and 2021, detailing how official complaints were ignored by the school.

Dr. Bitok firmly condemned the abuse and promised a zero-tolerance approach:

“We are not going to condone any behaviour where teachers or any other stakeholder in schools take advantage of our children. Such behaviour will not be tolerated.”

He added that the crackdown applies to all schools across the country:

“It is not only in Alliance. Even in any other school in the country, that behaviour must stop forthwith.”

The revelations sparked nationwide outrage, prompting alumni of Alliance Girls to stage protests outside the school.

FIDA Kenya called the report “shocking” and urged the government to: Conduct thorough investigationsEnforce mandatory gender-based violence policies in all schoolsEstablish safe reporting systems for students

The Ministry of Education has pledged full transparency and a student-first approach in dealing with abuse, promising reforms to better protect children within Kenya’s learning institutions.

The case has reignited the national conversation around student safety, accountability in schools, and institutional silence around sexual violence.
