  • Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has launched a new Ksh500 million county headquarters.
  • The building will house all top county officials, eliminating the need for rented spaces.
  • A biometric attendance system will be used for accountability.
  • The launch comes just after Natembeya returned to office following a 60-day court-ordered suspension.

Governor George Natembeya on Wednesday, July 23, officially unveiled the new Trans Nzoia County headquarters, a Ksh500 million state-of-the-art facility that will house all senior county officers, including CECs, Chief Officers, and Directors.

He said the new building will end the need for hiring meeting venues and will help streamline administrative work.

“All government officers will be working from this building. If I want to hold a meeting, I just summon them to the boardroom. No more hiring spaces,” he said.

The governor also announced that a digital attendance system will be introduced. Every county staff member, including himself, will be required to clock in and out using a biometric system.

“This building will also have a system where officers will be clocking in once they report for duty and when they leave, including myself,” he noted.

The launch follows Natembeya’s return to office after a 60-day court-ordered suspension due to corruption allegations. On Monday, July 21, he declared he was now more focused than ever.

“After 60 days away, I’m back recharged, focused, and ready to serve you with full force!” he stated.

He emphasised that nothing would derail his administration’s development agenda, promising to fulfil all campaign pledges.

“No one will shake our resolve to rewrite our story. We are determined to fulfil every campaign pledge and ensure that the people of Trans Nzoia continue to enjoy the benefits that devolution has brought,” he added.
