- It now appears active in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam.
A British man named Jimmy Munday has left many stunned online after revealing how his stolen Range Rover, taken months ago from his driveway in the UK, somehow found its way to East Africa—and is still active on the roads of Tanzania.
The twist? He had secretly placed an Apple AirTag inside the car before the theft happened. That small tracker told him everything.
The Route: Through the Med and Suez Canal
Jimmy, who shared the story on the Dull Men’s Club Facebook group, explained how he had been quietly monitoring the vehicle’s every move. According to him, the Range Rover travelled from the UK, into the Mediterranean, passed through the Suez Canal, and eventually reached Tanzania.
“It’s now in its new home and comes back to this location daily,” Jimmy wrote, attaching screenshots of the car’s GPS locations.
Kinondoni: The Car’s New Routine
The latest Apple AirTag signal showed the car in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, specifically on Sheka Mont Road. The tracker logs showed it was “last seen yesterday at 17:34,” proving it’s still being used daily—by someone else.
Screenshots attached to the post showed the vehicle had previously been seen in Temeke and other spots in Tanzania, with dates and times clearly marked:
“Range Rover, Temeke, Tanzania – Last seen 26 February 2025 at 14:09”
“Range Rover, Sheka Mont Road, Kinondoni – Last seen yesterday at 17:34”
The Hat He Left Behind
Despite the bizarre situation, Jimmy added a touch of humor in his post, saying he often wonders who the new driver is—and whether they’re also wearing his favorite hat.
“I left it in the back seat. M44 Size 9,” he joked.
The post, which quickly went viral, has drawn over 20k reactions, 3.6K comments, and 662 shares.
Kenyans and Tanzanians React
While many online were surprised by how far a stolen car could travel unnoticed, others laughed at Jimmy’s calm attitude and witty remarks. Users, even replied with a series of emojis, summing up the emotions of many.
The story shows just how far stolen vehicles can go, and how modern tracking tools like Apple AirTags are changing the game.
