- Kenya 15s side, Simba’s, to play UAE in a warm-up test match on May 24 at RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi.

Kenya national rugby 15s squad “Simba’s” will host their counterparts from United Arab Emirates in Nairobi in a build-up match ahead of the Rugby World Cup Qualifiers in South Africa.
Simba’s who are currently in a residential camp in Kakamega under head coach Jerome Paarwater will host UAE on Saturday 24th of May at RFUEA Grounds in Ngong, Nairobi with the test game being an evaluation for the respective team’s preparation to the RWC Qualifiers and Asian Cup respectively.
The Kenyan squad currently consists of 50 players and according to the head coach, the team will be trimmed down to 33 and head to a pre-departure camp on the 26th and depart to Johannesburg on the 28th May for a high-performance tour.
He further states that the tour in South Africa will be split in two key phases whereby Kenya will spend their stay in Cape Town and engage in high-profile friendlies against Currie Cup sides and hold midweek sessions with local clubs and university teams from the 28th May to the 22nd of June.
In the second phase, Simba’s shall move to Nylstroom for another camp from 22nd-27th June in collaboration with Blue Bulls rugby team based in Pretoria for another set of wager-games with outfits from the Currie Cup.
