Mathare United head coach John Kamau has praised the efforts of his attacking midfielder Musa Masika as his second half introduction helped the slum boys salvage a point against youthful Sofapaka in an FKFPL early kickoff staged at Dandora Stadium on Friday.
The former Kenya U-20 who was recently roped from Gor Mahia in the midseason window has been enjoying a good run, proving to be super-sub in the recent games scoring decisive goals that have kept Mathare afloat and his coach believes Masika is proving to be a goal-scoring machine for his side.
Kamau says that Masika is a gifted player whom he has worked with at different stages and what he needs most is adequate playing time to make him a better version.
“I have worked with Musa at the national U-20 team in 2017 and also at Wazito FC, he is a talented boy and he’s proving to be a valuable goal scoring machine for us, I believe with more playing time he will be more lethal and the aspect of him getting more minutes won’t take long”, Kamau said via Azam Sports on a post-match interview.
Masika was thrown into the fray in the 73rd minute and scoring a screamer two minutes later, a goal that made the sides share the spoils in the Friday’s afternoon clash.
Last weekend, the former Gor Mahia and KCB man also staged a Man of the match performance after grabbing a brace in the club’s 2-1 win over Tusker.
