- Police denied involvement but admitted Koimburi was under investigation for land fraud.
Juja MP George Koimburi is currently in the hospital after what his family says was a violent abduction on Sunday. He was reportedly seized by unknown people outside a church in Mugutha, kiambu and later left injured in a coffee plantation. His family says he is being treated at Plainsview Hospital in Ruiru.
His wife, Ann Koimburi, said the attackers were rough and hurt her as she tried to protect her husband. “This is not the first time strange things have happened to him. His phone and car were taken earlier during investigations,” she added.
A video making rounds online shows the MP being shoved into a silver Subaru Forester with private number plates. The unclear identity of the abductors has sparked fear and confusion.
Police Distance Themselves as Public Anger Grows
While confirming Koimburi is under investigation for possible misuse of CDF money and land fraud, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) denied having anything to do with the abduction.
The unexplained disappearance and mysterious dumping have caused a public uproar, with both lawmakers and human rights groups now demanding clear answers. Many are calling for a proper, unbiased investigation into what happened and whether legal procedures are being followed.
The case has stirred tension across Kiambu, with questions growing around who might be behind the attack — and whether this could be a sign of deeper political interference.
As things stand, the public is demanding accountability and justice for Koimburi, regardless of the allegations he faces.
