Homeboyz Slows Police FC League Title Hopes as FC Talanta Sink Tusker in a Midweek Fixture

Kakamega Homeboyz FC has today garnered three important points against law enforces in an entertaining encounter staged at Mumias Sports Complex.

The Francis Baraza coaches side dominated the game in the first minutes after the kick Off whistle.Seven minutes after the start of the game, Kakamega Homeboyz forward man Ben Saul was brought down in the penalty box.

Kevin Amwayi took the ball ready for the spot kick but it was later handed to the goal poacher Moses Shumah who was targeting to score his 16th goal of the season.

Shumah took the brilliant kick which left Police FC goalkeeper Job Ochieng on the wrong direction of the ball.The goal placed Moses Shumah at the top of the FKFPL scorers log.

However,as the match was heading to the 15th minute, Police FC playmaker Marvin Nabwire collided with Kevin Amwayi which awarded the Police men a free kick.

Abud Omar played a beautiful free kick which was found inside the net by the Mohammed Bajaber’s brilliant header.The goal brought back Police FC into the game with high expectations.

The first half ended with a one all round draw.

In the second half, Police FC enforced their squad bringing in the new energy of Daniel Sakari,Clinton Kinanga and Jesse Were.

However, after an hour mark, the Abana Beingo’s Glen Masava Otunga doubled the lead through a fantastic kick few meters away from the goalkeeper’s box.

Police FC head coach Ndayiragije Etienne expressed his feelings after the match stating out that the loss has affected their title hopes.

“We were hoping for a win today, but still we accept the results encountered.We match forward to fight for the nine points in the remaining matches.” stated Ndayiragije Etienne

On the other side, Francis Baraza thanked his boys for a tactical showdown.

“I thank God for the three points,the match was tough but the boys managed to shine out,this is a crucial win for the team.With three matches remaining,we hope for the best.” Francis Baraza told Kenyan Trend.

Elsewhere,at Dandora Stadium,Tusker FC suffered a major dent in title hopes as Talanta continued their impressive run, having now beaten AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia, KCB, Tusker, Bandari, Ulinzi Stars, and Sofapaka this season.

Emmanuel Osoro scored a brace which moved him to the top position together with Moses Shumah,16 goals each.

FC Talanta striker Emmanuel Osoro believes scoring against big teams comes naturally to him.

The forward has already netted goals against top Kenyan Premier League sides including Tusker FC, AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia, and Sofapaka FC.

“Those games are actually the easiest for me,” Osoro said. “Big teams often underestimate us, and that motivates me to prove a point — that’s why I find it easy to score against them.” narrated Osoro.
