Gachagua Promises Big Bash as He Launches New Party

  • Rigathi Gachagua has confirmed he will unveil his new political party within the week.
  • The former Deputy President made the announcement during a church service in Juja.
  • He says the move is a new chapter in his political life and will be celebrated in style.
  • Gachagua criticised Kenya Kwanza for trying to split Mount Kenya’s unity using smaller parties.
  • The official launch is expected on Thursday, with the name, slogan, and party colours to be revealed.
  • Many see this as Gachagua’s plan to regain political control in the region before the 2027 elections.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has confirmed he is ready to unveil his new political party. The move ends months of silence since his impeachment and signals a comeback to the political scene.

The Big Announcement in Juja

While addressing a congregation in Juja on Sunday, May 11, Gachagua told churchgoers that the launch will happen this week and will be followed by a grand celebration to mark the occasion.

“I will be launching my own party this week, and I invite all of you to join us as we celebrate this new beginning,” he said.

A Swipe at Kenya Kwanza

Gachagua didn’t hold back his criticism towards the ruling coalition. He claimed that there are efforts from within the government to create confusion in Mount Kenya by promoting new parties and alternative presidential candidates.

“They can form as many small parties as they want, but the mountain knows its direction and will not be misled,” Gachagua added.

Event Set for Thursday

According to reliable sources, the official launch is likely to happen on Thursday, March 15. During the event, Gachagua is expected to introduce the party’s name, its guiding slogan, and official branding colours.

Political Reawakening in the Mountain

This move is largely being viewed as Gachagua’s strategic attempt to regain his footing in Mount Kenya politics. As 2027 nears, many believe he wants to establish himself as a central figure in the region’s leadership once again.
