Boda Boda Rider Arrested in Connection to MP Charles Were’s Murder

A major breakthrough has been made in the investigation into the brutal killing of Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were. Detectives have confirmed the arrest of Amos Barasa Kasili, who was captured during a planned operation in Kibera’s Darajani area.

Motorbike and Crime Links Uncovered

Barasa is suspected to have acted as the rider of the motorcycle used to follow the MP before the deadly shooting. The Bajaj Boxer bike bearing registration KMFZ 413W was found in his possession during the arrest, strengthening his ties to the murder.

Confession and Payment Reveal Deeper Plot

Upon interrogation, Barasa reportedly admitted that he took part in the planning and execution of the killing. Authorities revealed that he was paid Ksh. 50,000 for his role, pointing to a well-coordinated scheme involving multiple actors.

Criminal Past and CCTV Evidence Surface

CCTV footage retrieved near Parliament showed a motorbike resembling the one recovered, placing Barasa close to the crime scene. Police also said he has a long history of crime and was previously jailed at Industrial Area Prison — the same place he is believed to have met some of the main suspects.

Suspect Remains in Custody as Probe Deepens

Barasa is currently being held as police widen their investigation. Authorities have assured the public that they will pursue all individuals involved until justice is served for the slain MP.
