PS Roseline Njogu Declares War on Traffickers After Rescuing 31 Kenyans from Myanmar

A group of 31 Kenyans who were trapped in scam compounds in Myanmar returned home safely on Saturday, April 6. They were received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Roseline K. Njogu.

“There Is Nowhere to Hide” – PS Njogu Warns

While addressing the media, PS Njogu issued a firm warning to traffickers targeting desperate youth with fake jobs abroad.

“We are coming for you. There is nowhere to hide,” she declared.

She said the government has activated a multi-agency crackdown to deal with both local and foreign recruiters involved in the trafficking web.

Victims Share Painful Experiences

The returnees narrated how they were lured by false job promises, only to be held in Myanmar under harsh conditions. Some were tortured and forced to work against their will.

This group follows an earlier rescue of 47 Kenyans from similar circumstances.

Gov’t Pledges Full Protection of Citizens Abroad

The PS reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and dignity of Kenyans working abroad.

“This is not just a warning; it’s action time,” she said.
