- Baby Sagini, the boy whose eyes were gouged out in Kisii, is still living in isolation.
- Mike Sonko says he’s been denied access despite helping in his treatment.
- The child’s mother is also not allowed to see him.
- Questions arise on why Baby Sagini hasn’t received further specialized medical care.
Three years ago, Baby Sagini’s horrific ordeal left the country in shock. The young boy from Kisii had his eyes gouged out in a brutal attack that led to the imprisonment of three suspects — including his grandmother.
But today, long after the case concluded, the pain continues in silence.
Mike Sonko Raises Alarm Over Denied Access
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who flew the child to Nairobi for specialized treatment and covered his medical costs, has revealed disturbing new details. Sonko claims that he’s no longer allowed to see the boy — despite being among the first people who stepped in to help.
Even worse, Sagini’s own mother has also been barred from visiting her son.
Why Is Mama Ngina Children’s Home Blocking Visits?
Sonko expressed his frustration, accusing the Mama Ngina Children’s Home of isolating the child. He questioned the motive behind the restrictions — especially now that the court case is over, and Sagini is no longer a protected witness.
He also says the child has not been given proper follow-up medical care since.
Lingering Pain, Unanswered Questions
“A mother is crying. A well-wisher is in pain. Why is this child still being denied healing?” Sonko posed emotionally.
As Baby Sagini remains in a place of silence and mystery, many are now asking — is this justice? If those who love and care for him are kept away, is his healing even possible?
The nation may have moved on, but for Sagini, the scars remain — both seen and unseen.
