A heartbreaking incident has shaken Ramba Boys High School in Siaya County, where two students lost their lives after falling into a septic tank.

The tragedy struck on Saturday, March 22, at around 6 PM, when four students were standing on top of the septic tank, unaware of the danger beneath them. Suddenly, the structure gave way, sending all four plunging inside.

Rescuers managed to save two students, who were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, desperate attempts to retrieve the remaining two ended in sorrow as they succumbed inside the tank.

Reports indicate that the students had just returned from an AIDS awareness rally at a nearby center when the accident happened.

Emergency Response and Public Outcry

First responders, including officers from the Kenya Red Cross, arrived swiftly at the scene and retrieved the bodies of the deceased students.

Reacting to the tragedy, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo expressed his sorrow, calling for investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

“Another tragedy! Saddened to learn two young boys at Ramba Boys High School have lost their lives after a septic tank collapsed! May their young souls know peace, even as we continue investigating the circumstances.”

The incident has left parents and guardians deeply concerned, with many taking to social media to question the safety of school infrastructure.
