The patient, who had recently undergone surgery on his right rib, is said to have been struggling with mental distress over mounting hospital bills and the fear of being detained at the facility.
Fear of Abandonment and Unpaid Bills
Sources, including other patients, revealed that the deceased had repeatedly expressed concerns that his family had abandoned him, leaving him helpless with no means to clear his medical expenses.
On Sunday, he reportedly used a nylon rope tied to a metal bar above his hospital bed to end his life.
