Super Metro Blames Alcohol for Passenger’s Tragic Death

  • Super Metro refutes claims of involvement in Thuku’s death.
  • Witness insists Thuku was not pushed but fell while attempting to hold onto the door.
  • Incident reportedly stemmed from a fare dispute over Ksh 30.

The circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Gilbert Thuku Kimani have taken a new turn, with Super Metro distancing itself from any wrongdoing. Witness accounts are emerging, contradicting earlier claims that Thuku was pushed out of the moving matatu.

A man who claims to have been inside the same vehicle during the incident has come forward, stating that Thuku was not pushed by the conductor. Instead, he alleges that the deceased had a dispute over a Ksh 30 fare, insisting he only had Ksh 50.

According to the witness, Thuku, who was reportedly intoxicated, argued briefly before deciding to stand near the door, attempting to hold onto the metal bars—a common stance for conductors. Unfortunately, he missed his grip, lost balance, and fell as the matatu was already in motion. By the time the driver stopped, he had sustained severe injuries.

The witness maintains that there was no physical altercation and that Thuku’s fall was purely accidental. The case continues to spark debate, with many awaiting further investigations to establish the full truth.
