President William Ruto has reiterated his commitment to supporting religious institutions, emphasizing that Kenya is a Christian nation. Speaking at the AIC Fellowship Annex in Eldoret on Sunday, March 9, Ruto stated that he is unapologetic about his faith and will not back down from backing churches.
“This country is a Christian nation that worships the Lord. We are unafraid, unashamed, and unapologetic about our faith in God. I believe that His grace is enough to transform this country,” Ruto declared.
The president also took aim at those opposing his involvement in church affairs, claiming that forces against his work were being influenced by “the devil.”
“For the avoidance of doubt, those who don’t believe in God and oppose the building of churches will not succeed. In this nation, God will be known,” he asserted.
Ruto further assured the congregation of his financial support for their church’s construction, promising to cover their pending budget.
“I was in Jesus Winners last week, and the people there are wonderful. I hear you made contributions here last week. Take that amount, double it, and send me the invoice. I will send the money,” he told the church leadership.
He vowed to ensure the church project is completed before December 2025, reinforcing his dedication to religious institutions in Kenya.
