A postmortem conducted on Friday, March 7, has confirmed that 26-year-old Dennis Muthui died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, refuting earlier claims by police that he was stabbed during the Majengo protests.
Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor stated that Muthui succumbed to excessive bleeding, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
“The bullet caused severe internal injuries, leading to massive bleeding,” Oduor revealed.
Demands for Justice Grow
The findings have sparked public outrage, with activists and family members demanding accountability from law enforcement officers.
“We want the truth. Those responsible must be brought to justice,” a relative of Muthui stated.
Human rights organizations have also condemned the alleged use of force, calling for an independent investigation into the incident.
