Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi has formally withdrawn charges against 16 individuals who were facing prosecution for theft, property destruction, and handling stolen goods at his Timba XO nightclub in Eldoret.
The accused were part of a youth-led protest against the Finance Bill 2024 on June 25, during which they allegedly stormed the high-end club, looted stock worth KSh78 million, and damaged property valued at KSh80 million. They were also accused of indulging in alcohol after forcefully gaining entry.
Following MP Sudi’s decision to drop the charges, the court issued a strong warning to the 16 youth, urging them to refrain from criminal activities and avoid becoming repeat offenders.
