Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed that Dela Ward MCA Yussuf Hussein Tolfiyo was instructed by his abductors not to speak about his captivity.
Speaking on Monday, March 10, after visiting the MCA at a Nairobi hospital, Kalonzo strongly condemned the abduction and demanded that the government take action.
“We thank God for sparing the life of Wajir County Minority Leader Hon. Ahmed Hussein. He has endured six months in unlawful custody. His abductors warned him to remain silent about what he went through.”
Kalonzo Demands End to Enforced Disappearances
The Wiper leader vowed to keep fighting against forced disappearances, insisting on the rule of law and strict adherence to the Constitution.
“As the people’s coalition, we will continue to say NO to abductions and YES to justice and human rights.”
How the MCA Survived Six Months in Captivity
Kalonzo disclosed that the MCA and other abductees were subjected to harsh conditions, surviving on one meal a day and being forced to drink excessive amounts of water.
“We have learned that there is a special squad involved. These abductees are only given one meal a day but forced to drink a lot of water. That is how Mheshimiwa survived.”
He further alleged government involvement, questioning how the abductors managed to access medical personnel during captivity.
“This is state-sponsored because who else can secure the services of a doctor? We demand that the perpetrators be identified and prosecuted.”
MCA Finally Reunited with Family
MCA Yussuf Tolfiyo was reunited with his family on Saturday evening after disappearing in September 2024. His case has reignited concerns over enforced disappearances, with leaders and human rights activists calling for accountability.
