Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has reaffirmed that the party remains committed to the Azimio la Umoja coalition, dismissing any speculation about a potential exit.
Speaking in an interview on Spice FM, Kioni stressed that Jubilee’s membership in Azimio is backed by official documentation. He pointed out that a coalition agreement was signed and submitted to both the Registrar of Political Parties and the Speaker of the National Assembly.
“We in Jubilee signed that agreement, and we are in Azimio to date. We will remain in Azimio until we get into another coalition agreement when that time comes,” said Kioni.
Kioni further addressed the shifting political landscape, noting that with ODM’s recent pact with the government and other opposition parties moving in different directions, Jubilee is ready to step up and provide leadership within the opposition.
He dismissed claims that the formation of the Kamwene political outfit signified cracks in Azimio, reiterating that Jubilee remains steadfast in its commitment to the coalition.
