Francis Atwoli has urged the people of Malava constituency to rally behind one of the late Malulu Injendi’s sons as his successor in Parliament. Speaking on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the late MP’s burial in Lugusi village, Kakamega County, Atwoli stated that Injendi’s sons are qualified to continue their father’s legacy.

He encouraged the community to consult the widow of the late MP, who would help identify one of their sons to vie in the by-election once the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set up.

“I want to tell you as a community, Injendi’s sons qualify enough. If I were a Kabras elder, I would have asked Malulu Injendi’s wife to give us one of their sons to serve and complete his father’s remaining years in Parliament,” said Atwoli in the Luhya dialect, drawing cheers from mourners.

Honoring Injendi’s Legacy

Atwoli emphasized that his desire was to see one of Injendi’s sons take over the parliamentary role to ensure continuity of his father’s development agenda. He described the late MP as a respected and visionary leader who had made a significant impact in Malava.

As the constituency prepares for a by-election, Atwoli’s endorsement adds to the growing political debate over who should succeed the late MP. However, the final decision rests with the electorate and political parties that will field a candidate
