“Congratulations, Chipukeezy on your appointment. May you serve with focus and passion as we work towards building the creative economy,” Itumbi wrote, citing Habakkuk 2:3 in his message of encouragement.

A Close Ally of the Ruto Administration

Chipukeezy has been a familiar face at Kenya Kwanza events, often taking up the role of Master of Ceremonies (MC). His political connections have not gone unnoticed, with some Kenyans questioning his loyalty to the current government.

Responding to critics who accuse him of siding with the ruling regime, Chipukeezy dismissed the backlash, making it clear that he would not sacrifice his livelihood to appease online naysayers.

“Some people want me to quit my job just so they can celebrate me on social media. How foolish would that be?” he remarked.

“I am an MC. If I get booked to host an event, why would I reject it just to prove a point? If you have a mission to change Kenya, I wish you the best, but don’t assume that those of us who aren’t part of your movement are weak.”

A History of Public Service

Chipukeezy is no stranger to government appointments. Under former President Uhuru Kenyatta, he served as a board member at the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA). His latest appointment solidifies his growing influence in both entertainment and government circles.
