Two Police Officers Arrested for Attempted Robbery in Githurai

  • Two police officers were arrested for attempting to rob a suspect in Githurai, Nairobi County.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrest of two police officers and a civilian suspect following an attempted robbery with violence in Githurai.

According to the DCI, the officers were on patrol on February 17, 2025, when they pinned a member of the public to the ground in an attempt to steal his valuables.

Fortunately, other patrolling officers intervened in time, arresting the trio and escorting them to Githurai Police Post.

Legal Action and DCI’s Response

The suspects have since undergone processing and will be presented in court on February 19, 2025.

In response to the incident, the DCI issued a stern warning, emphasizing that police officers should serve and protect the public rather than engage in criminal activities.

This incident underscores ongoing concerns about rogue officers within law enforcement, with authorities urging strict adherence to the law.
