The body of Brian Odhiambo, who went missing in January, has been found in Lake Nakuru National Park, weeks after his alleged abduction by Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers.
His mother confirmed the discovery, revealing that local youths retrieved the body from the water on Monday.
Allegations Against KWS Officers
According to eyewitness accounts, when the body was discovered, a KWS patrol boat arrived but did not assist in the retrieval. Instead, officers allegedly cocked their guns and threatened to shoot the youths when they identified the body as Brayo (Brian’s nickname).
“The youths found my son in the water on Monday. A game park boat came, but they did not assist the fishermen. When they identified him as Brayo, they cocked their guns and threatened to shoot the youths,” read the mother’s statement.
Ongoing Investigations
The circumstances surrounding Odhiambo’s disappearance and death remain unclear. His family and the community have demanded justice and a thorough investigation into his alleged abduction by KWS officers.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
