The family of Lilian Nyambura Mbugua is enduring heartbreak and uncertainty after her mysterious disappearance just days before Christmas. Lilian, a 28-year-old brand manager at East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL), was visiting her mother’s home in Kabati, Murang’a County, to celebrate the festive season when she went missing.

The Disappearance

Lilian had arrived at her mother’s home on Saturday, December 21, for the holidays. The weekend was filled with joyous moments, including attending church on Sunday, December 22, and sharing meals with her family. However, the celebrations took a tragic turn on the evening of Monday, December 23, when Lilian left the house around 5 p.m.

“It seemed like an ordinary walk within the estate since she was still in her headscarf and slippers,” said her uncle, George Njuguna. Hours later, when she failed to return, her family grew concerned.

Unanswered Questions

Lilian’s mobile phones, car, laptop, house keys, and identification documents were all found untouched in the house. This has left her family and authorities without leads to trace her movements.

The family reported her disappearance to the Gikono police post on Tuesday, December 24, but investigations have faced challenges due to the absence of traceable devices or evidence.

Family’s Plea

The family is now turning to the public for help, hoping for information that could lead to her safe return. “We are desperate for answers and remain hopeful,” shared a family member.

Lilian’s disappearance has left her loved ones in anguish, searching for clues to unravel the mystery. The family urges anyone with information to come forward and assist in reuniting them with their daughter.
