A bar attendant at Kapcherany Trading Centre in Bomet is recovering from severe injuries after being accidentally shot by a senior police officer during an impromptu demonstration of firearm mechanics.

Incident Details

The incident occurred late at night when the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) began explaining the workings of his firearm to a companion inside the bar. During the explanation, the firearm accidentally discharged, striking the bar attendant in the stomach.

The victim was rushed to Litein Hospital, where medical staff are working to treat the life-threatening injuries caused by the bullet wound.

Response and Investigation
