Goals galore as Cameroon claims a 4-1 win over Kenya

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have recorded a 4-1 win against Harambee Stars in an AFCON Qualifiers showdown in Younde,Cameroon.

The match began on a high note with the hosts dominating from the Kick off.Cameroon got a Penalty kick on the 7th minute of the game which was converted into a goal by Vincent Aboubakar.

Cameroon were forced to make the first substitute in the 18th minute after a horrible clash between Kenya’s Sylvester Owino and Wooh Crystopher who was rested for Charles Castelleto.

In the 28th minute,the stars goalkeeper, Patrick Matasi made a classic save from the Cameroon striker.

Amos Nondi was booked with a yellow card on the 30th minute.

The Indomitable Lions doubled their lead in the 39th minute through a long range shot from Martin Hongla which was spitted inside the net by Matasi.

However,the Engin Firat coached side, scored their first goal through captain Michael Olunga after converting a fantastic free kick from Eric Marcelo Ouma.

Two minutes later,Bryan Meumo gave the hosts a third goal.The first half ended 3-1 in favour of the hosts.
The second half commenced with Engin Firat including assistant captain Joseph Okumu for Amos Nondi.Ten minutes after the start of the second half,the Indomitable Lions scored their fourth goal through an easy attack from Bassogog Christian.
John Avire came in for Timothy Ouma in the 66th minute.

The second half was marked by a tactical and defensive showdown between both sides.Yanga SC custodian Duke Abuya was replaced by Alfred Scriven in the last quarter of the game.

In the 75th minute, Harambee Stars encountered an excellent kick by John Avire but was parred away by Manchester United shot Stopper Andre Onana.
Cameroon now tops Group J with 7 points.Kenya takes the second position with 4 points.The two teams will again meet on Monday 14th October 2024 in Kampala,Uganda.
