Willis Austin Chimano, a renowned Kenyan singer-songwriter, has released his latest single, “Fashion,”
The song marks a new chapter in his solo career. “Fashion” is more than simply a bright dance anthem, produced by Ghana’s Afro-Elektra and co-produced by Kenyan producer DTX.
It’s a declaration of self-expression and a reference to Kenya’s burgeoning fashion scene.
Chimano, known for his experimental sound, combines this track with energetic beats to demonstrate his creative range.
Bono called the song an “ode to Kenya’s fashion industry,” with designs by renowned local designers Kiko Romeo, Sevaria, Muyishime, and Afrostreet. Chimano appears in the music video alongside fashion superstars such as Brian Babu, Wambui Thimba, and Yvonne Afrostreet, all of whom wear custom items that reflect Kenyan design prowess.
Chimano expressed his delight ahead of the release, adding that “Fashion” had been working on it for two years. “The timing is perfect now, and I’m thrilled to share it after navigating everything else to embark on my solo career,” added the artist.
