After recording a poor performance in the previous game, Police FC shot Stopper Patrick Matasi was today rested, Bandari FC goalkeeper Byrne Omondi taking up the task.

Omondi showed a composed performance throughout the game. The 27 year old shot Stopper excelled in one on one situations making several long range saves.Boris Enow stole the spotlight with a brilliant free kick that secured the win for Cameron . Although he conceded from a set piece, Byrne had clearly tracked the shot, but it appeared to trouble him after seemingly taking a deflection.

The defense backline led by Eric Ouma was somehow solid.Throughout the two games, Erick Ouma’s self-assurance, prompt tackles, and precise forward passes were crucial components of his play. When the visitors exerted pressure and successfully cleared his lines, he often slid back to assist the central defenders. He had a strong defensive showing overall, despite the fact that he periodically lost concentration and went wide.

On the forward line Harambee Stars Captain Michael Olunga had trouble finishing, squandering three easy opportunities and drawing needless fouls from behind. He appeared to be playing poorly, and in order to motivate the team’s tempo, he will need to improve as captain. He lacked the cutting edge necessary to have an effect throughout the game.

Harambee Stars had a scoring chance in the 22nd minute of the game.Cameroon managed to defend a well planned attack from the Harambee Stars playmaker Duke Abuya in collaboration with captain Michael Olunga.

At the half-hour mark, Olunga’s header from an Ouma corner was comfortably collected by Onana. Moments later, Omondi made a brilliant save, diving to his left to prevent Cameroon from opening the scoring. In the 35th minute, Cameroon squandered their best opportunity of the half when a mix-up between Vincent Aboubakar and Malong Pierre saw Pierre shoot wide from inside the penalty area.

Kenya will play its final two group games in November. They’ll first take on Zimbabwe away before hosting Namibia in Uganda.
