  • Willis Ayieko, a senior HR manager at Wells Fargo, was found dead in Sabatia, Vihiga County, after going missing on October 18.
  • His abandoned vehicle was located near a petrol station, with CCTV footage showing two unidentified men leaving the car.
  • Authorities are treating the case as a suspected murder, and investigations are ongoing.

The body of Willis Ayieko, a senior manager at Wells Fargo, was discovered abandoned in a mortuary in Sabatia, Vihiga County, on Monday, October 21. Ayieko, the company’s Human Resources (HR) Manager, had been missing since Friday, October 18, after attending a burial in Gem, Siaya County.

Ayieko’s vehicle, an orange pick-up, was found deserted near a petrol station in Sabatia. CCTV footage captured two unidentified men abandoning the vehicle, and police are working to identify them, hoping to gain crucial insights into how they acquired the car.

Ayieko’s family grew concerned when he failed to return home on Friday and did not attend an event in Kakamega the following day, as expected. Some of his acquaintances speculate that his position as HR manager, particularly during a time of layoffs in various companies, may have contributed to his abduction and death.

The motive behind his disappearance and subsequent death remains unclear, and police have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. Authorities are visiting several locations where Ayieko’s car was seen to gather more evidence.

The death of Willis Ayieko has left his family, friends, and colleagues searching for answers. As police continue to investigate, the case remains shrouded in mystery, with more details expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
