- Mr. Combs, 54, was taken into custody this week on charges of operating a criminal organization since 2008.
Sean “Diddy” Combs, a hip-hop artist, has once again been denied bail after his attorneys made the case for his release from “horrendous” jail circumstances in anticipation of his sex trafficking trial.
On Tuesday, a federal judge in New York remanded the musician in detention after prosecutors claimed there was a “high risk of [the suspect] escaping”.
Mr Combs, 54, was arrested this week on charges of running a criminal organization from 2008 that used drugs and violence to force women to “fulfill his sexual desires,” according to authorities.
Combs has rejected all claims.
After the ruling, Mr. Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told reporters that it “didn’t go the way we wanted,” adding that the struggle would continue.
The 14-page indictment charges Mr. Combs with fraud, forced sex trafficking, and human trafficking for prostitution.
If convicted on all three counts, the rapper and music producer could face 15 years to life in jail.
