Stevo Simple Boy, a well-known Kibera artist, has asked the pastor of the JCM church, Benson Gathungu, also known as Muthee Kiengei, to apologize.
Speaking with an online reporter, Stevo, whose real name is Stephen Otieno Adera, accused the priest of demeaning him and his talent.
The singer complained that the pastor was interfering with his life rather than promoting God’s word.
“First, Pastor Kiengei stated I had no skill; I bark like a dog and sing like a goat. Now I want to warn Kiengei that instead of doing God’s work, he is coming to interfere with Stevo Simple Boy’s life. “That is not appropriate, and he is not the God who created me,” Stevo responded.
Stevo then set a 24-hour deadline for the bishop, who is also a radio host and Kikuyu comedian to apologize.
“I’ve given him 24 hours to come to Kibera and apologize; if he doesn’t, Kenyans and my supporters will strike. We’ll strike and march to his church. Please stop playing with me. “That’s like he underestimated me,” he remarked.
The entertainer pleaded with fellow Kenyans to assist him in obtaining justice after being outraged by bishop Kiengei’s statements.
“If he fails to apologize, I will tell my fellow Kenyans to go on strike, let justice be done,” he said.
This comes just a week after Bishop Kiengei of the JCM church received a lot of backlash on social media for statements he made about Stevo Simple Boy and his ex-girlfriend, content creator Purity Vishenwa, also known as Pritty Vishy.
The comic had to apologize after Pritty Vishy urged him to, stating that the negative comments he made about her had an impact on her.
On Tuesday of last week, pastor Kiengei took to social media to apologize to Stevo Simple Boy’s former girlfriend and accept that he was incorrect in making the statements against him.
Kiengei stated that he mispronounced Pritty Vishy’s name and that his nasty words were inappropriate.
