James Bungei has wowed netizens after sharing on his Facebook account how he managed to raise a sum of sh 90,000 in school fees for his two daughters who are still at a top high school in Kenya. The 53-year-old who works as a night security guard in Nairobi says his 15k monthly salary is not enough to even raise half of his girl’s fees.
“Mshahara yangu ya 15k ni kidogo sana. Haiwezi ata fikisha school fees nusu ya hawa watoto wangu. Najua wengi wenu kama wazazi mnasomesha watoto wenyu na mikopo. Wengine wameuza mashamba. Mimi nina kismat changu kupitia uwekezaji (betting) ambapo nlipata nyota hii kutoka kwa guru wa Mugwenu,” he said.
Bungei says that it is true betting has left so many people vulnerable with nothing to smile about, but to him, this is an investment that has really changed the direction of his life and only the betting addicts who bet with no plans are the majority who suffer.
