Sofapaka has thrashed Naivas 1-0 today in a promotion play off.The match was staged at Police Sacco Stadium, Nairobi.
The two teams battled with high efforts.The first half began with several chances on both sides.On the 12th minute,Kalama came with a good run into Naivas side but the keeper stopped him.Sofapaka Goalkeeper showed up good saves.
The first half of the game ended goalless.Both teams continued showing up efforts in the second half.In the 89th minute Sofapaka’s Jacob Onyango scored the goal.
Jacob Onyango’s goal gave “Batoto Ba Mungu” an advantage in the play offs.The second leg of the play off will be played on Sunday July 24th 2024.The match will be staged at Dandora Stadium in Nairobi.
However,if Sofapaka wins in the next game,it will remain in the top tier league.If,Naivas will win with more than one goal it will be promoted.

Furthermore,if both teams are tied on aggregate and away goals,the match will proceed to penalties.The winner in the shootout will secure a place in the next season’s top tier.
Sofapaka FC will be struggling to maintain their top tier status.On the other hand,Naivas is fighting for a chance to appear in the FKFPL.
