Dadaab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim has been expelled from a hotel in Mombasa on the coast of Kenya following a controversial statement he made recently against the young Gen Z protesters.
In a video that spread rapidly on the internet, the member of parliament is seen saying “the demonstrators committed treason and if he were the president he would kill them”
Local media reports that the Member of Parliament arrived at the hotel on Friday.
The Director General of the hotel, Jimi Kariuki, announced the expulsion of the member of parliament on the X network in the past known as Twitter after some of his users accused him of allowing him to stay there.
Mr. Kariuki insists that the hotel does not agree in any way with Maalim’s statement.
In the video, which is not known when it was recorded, Maalim, speaking in Somali, is seen saying that if he were the President of Kenya he would kill 5,000 protesters every day.
A translation of the confirmed video revealed that the MP was accusing Kenyan Youth for their attempt to march to the State House during the protest against the 2024 Finance Bill.
However, the MP has denied the allegations saying that the video was edited.
