President Ruto announced the dissolution of the cabinet at around nine in the afternoon one day later – Thursday.

Omondi was responding to rumors that he had threatened to march to the presidential palace on Thursday morning but after receiving the information on Wednesday night, he had to put the threat back in the basket.

“Remember on Tuesday I had asked President Ruto to dissolve his cabinet by Thursday… I knew by Wednesday night when Moses Kuria was leaving these studios, that Ruto had dismissed all the ministers by five o’clock at night. I can’t say who told me but I knew that all their workers have lost their jobs,” Eric Omondi said.

However, he said that President Ruto still has a tough job ahead of him as everyone is waiting to see the new ministers he will appoint.

Omondi on his part said that this is Ruto’s chance to show the people who voted for him that he cares about their interests by appointing boda boda people and mama mboga to his cabinet.

President Ruto announced the dissolution of his cabinet and sent all of them home, including the attorney general, but the minister with high powers, Musalia Mudavadi and deputy president Rigathi Gachagua escaped the axe.
