Six bodies have been recovered from a quarry pit in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, Embakasi South on Friday, July 12, 2024, following an operation led by local area youth.

In a shocking turn of events, the recovered remains showcased the torture and agonising deaths of the deceased as some of them were dismembered and stashed in sacks.

The recovery mission is currently ongoing near the Kware Police Station led by local youth with police officers on site.

Identities of the recovered bodies remain a mystery as well as the cause of their deaths. Multiple reports indicate the existence of more bodies with various media houses reporting increasing numbers.

The incident has left members of the public shocked, whereas others continue to speculate on the origin of the bodies dumped in the quarry.

The police are yet to issue a statement on the matter, as recovery operations are ongoing.

Kenyans across social media platforms have since expressed their anger, calling out security agencies in the country for what they termed extra-judicial killings by the police during the anti-tax protests.

According to the statistics by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), five Kenyans remain unaccounted whereas 34 were abducted and tortured during this period.

Kenyans have since turned to the government, demanding answers regarding circumstances that led to the deaths of the now-discovered deceased comrades.
