  • A well-known figure on Citizen TV Swahili news, Swaleh Mdoe finds himself in the spotlight as word spreads throughout Kenya’s media landscape regarding his ban from broadcasting.
  • A trustworthy source at the media outlet claims that Mdoe’s suspension is related to his absence from a scheduled 1:00 pm bulletin on Tuesday, January 23.

Mdoe’s inability to deliver the daytime news bulletin and his subsequent failure to notify his supervisors of his absence are said to have been the primary factors in the decision to suspend him.

Management swiftly responded to the lack of communication by suspending the seasoned news anchor indefinitely.

According to sources, Mdoe missed the bulletin since he had a medical checkup on the day of the event.

But because he didn’t notify them according to the correct procedures, management took harsh action.

Even though Mdoe went back to work the next day, his supervisors called him in to tell him of the suspension and to prevent him from going on air for the time being.

Mdoe has been showing up for work as usual since the ban, despite the fact that he is still not doing his on-air duties.

Mdoe’s departure has created a clear gap in Citizen TV’s schedule. He was well-known for his hosting duties of the Monday prime-time Swahili bulletin at 7:00 pm and the 1:00 pm bulletins on Tuesday through Friday.
