On her widely following Instagram account, actress and content creator Jacky Vike, also known as Awinja, frankly detailed her requirements for a possible husband.
In the media set against a rural environment, Awinja highlighted her desire for a country lifestyle in her future marriage by tending to livestock and goats and wandering through a cornfield. She was adamant that any man who wanted to marry her had to own at least 50 acres of land, calling it a non-negotiable component of her life’s desire.
The comedian emphasised her rather lavish criterion, saying, “Anyone who wants to marry me should know this is the life I want.” I don’t need much, just 50 acres.”
The announcement elicited a wide range of emotions from online users and supporters. Some criticised her for being materialistic, claiming that 50 acres were excessive, while others went so far as to volunteer to provide more than the required 50 acres in order to marry Awinja.
Awinja joins the list of Kenyan female celebrities who have publicly announced their dowry prices, bringing a novel twist to the ongoing public debate about marital expectations.
