The competition was held at Makueni, Wambua’s home county, sponsored by a PCEA church in collaboration with an NGO that provides food supplies in hunger-stricken counties.
A similar competition was held recently in the Makueni Area by the same church. It was later relocated to Bungoma before the finalas were scheduled to take part on the first Sunday of June.
Wambua was the winner of the competition at Makueni. He whipped Ugali with a cup of soup, and his name was added to the list of finalists.
The Bungoma competition, on the other hand, was not like Makueni. The organizers needed to plan a larger battle. Wanyonyi, the champion, finished two kilograms of Ugali served with omelets Mayai in 15 minutes.
