Chelsea forward Kai Havertz is poised to undergo a medical this weekend ahead of his anticipated move to Arsenal, according to recent reports.

The medical examination is likely to take place overseas due to Havertz’s busy schedule, with an official announcement of his £65 million transfer expected to follow next week.

Chelsea are reportedly satisfied with the deal as Havertz has expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge, paving the way for a potential move to Arsenal.

Havertz, a highly talented German professional footballer, plays as an attacking midfielder or forward and currently represents both Chelsea and the Germany national team.
The 22-year-old started his professional career at Bayer Leverkusen’s youth academy in 2016, quickly making his mark in the Bundesliga. He holds the record for being Leverkusen’s youngest-ever debutant and goalscorer in the league.

Havertz’s impressive performances attracted interest from top European clubs, eventually leading to his move to Chelsea in 2020 for a transfer fee of €84 million (£72 million). At the time, he became the second-most expensive signing in Chelsea’s history, until Romelu Lukaku’s signing in 2021.

Since joining Chelsea, Havertz has enjoyed success, winning the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup in the 2020-2021 season. He notably scored the winning goals in the Champions League final and Club World Cup, as well as providing an assist in the UEFA Super Cup.

On the international stage, Havertz made his senior debut for Germany in September 2018, becoming the first player born in 1999 to represent the national team. He has since represented Germany in major tournaments such as UEFA Euro 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The potential acquisition of Havertz and the ongoing discussions about Rice showcase Arsenal’s ambition to strengthen their squad and compete at the highest level in the Premier League and beyond.
