Colonel Mustafa struggles
Colonel Mustafa, known for his contributions to Music, found himself facing a financial crisis due to the extensive medical expenses required for his mother’s chemotherapy treatment. To sustain her care, he had taken up menial jobs. Recognizing the artist’s plight, CS Namwamba assured him of the ministry’s intervention to support him during this challenging phase.
“We have heard your challenges, and as a ministry, I want to assure you that we are here to walk with you through this difficult time,” stated CS Namwamba. “We have put together a package that will ensure you can get back on your feet, continue making music, and entertain us.”
The CS emphasized the importance of Colonel Mustafa’s role in the music industry, expressing a desire to see him create more music and inspire the younger generation of artists. He commended the artist’s dedication to ensuring his mother received proper healthcare, stating, “The steps you have taken to provide for your mother’s health care are admirable, and for that, we shall stand with you.”

He referred to the ministry’s #TalantaHela initiative, which aims to guarantee artists’ rights to their intellectual property, allowing them to earn a living from their creations even after retiring from the active stage.
“We want to ensure that our artists can rely on their music and the royalties from their intellectual property as a sustainable source of income,” said the CS. “Through the #TalantaHela initiative, we aim to support artists like you, enabling them to live well and continue to contribute to the industry.”
