Victor Wanyama still follows the fortunes of his former clubs, including Celtic, Tottenham, and Southampton. While he is concerned about the risk of relegation for Southampton, he sees a potential opportunity for Spurs following the sacking of Antonio Conte.

Wanyama had the best football of his career under Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham and hopes that the club considers re-appointing the Argentine coach. The former Kenya captain believes it would be a positive move for both Pochettino and Spurs.

“He is a great coach and I’m sure he will help the team get back where they belong,” Wanyama told BBC.

According to Wanyama, Pochettino was not just a good manager but also a father figure to him and his teammates during his time at Tottenham. The coach treated them like his children, which created a good atmosphere that made the players want to perform their best for him.

Wanyama praised Pochettino’s attention to detail and how he helped improve his game. With such a positive experience under the Argentine’s tutelage, Wanyama believes that his former club should seriously consider bringing him back as manager.
