The Kenyan TV drama series “Pete Show” has been nominated for the Best Original Drama Series award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2023.

The show will be competing against several other popular African dramas, including “A Infiltrada” and “Unmarried”.

 About Pete

“Pete Show” revolves around the power struggle between two brothers, MBURA and JASIRI, who are both vying to become the next Chief of Funzi. The show also explores their romantic relationships and the challenges they face in pursuing their ambitions.

The AMVCA awards are a celebration of excellence in African film and television. The winners are selected by a panel of judges and by public voting. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, on June 17, 2023.

Fans of the show can show their support by voting for “Pete Show” on the AMVCA website. The public voting category for Best Original Drama Series will be open until June 7, 2023.

International recognition

The nomination is a testament to the quality of African drama and to the growing international recognition of African cinema. “Pete Show” and the other nominees are helping to showcase the diversity and richness of African storytelling, and we can’t wait to see who will take home the trophy at this year’s AMVCA awards.
