The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has made it clear that the intake for government-sponsored students would take place in September.
The placement process, according to KUCCPS, will enable students who took the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam in 2022 to be enrolled in institutions.
KUCCPS’s response followed a series of concerns and reports on changing the date to May from September but the KUCCPS denied the claims.
“Government-sponsored students will report in September and not May,” KUCCPS stated.KUCCPS further informed 2022 KCSE students that applications for placement had not been opened.
According to KUCCPS, after the application, students would also be allowed to change their course selection.
“The application process for the 2022 candidates is yet to start, the portal will first be opened for revision of courses before transfer application,” KUCCPS stated.
“The application guidelines will be provided during the transfer window,” the government body indicated.
In order to prevent confusion, KUCCPS stated that information would be distributed to students via official KUCCPS channels and public service announcements in the media.
The KCSE results slip and all other necessary information must be submitted by applicants to KUCCPS.
In the released 2022 KCSE results announced by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, 173,345 candidates got the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above.
