Andy Carroll,a former West Ham forward, has encouraged Declan Rice to consider joining Arsenal during the summer transfer window amidst interest from various Premier League clubs. Rice, who is regarded as one of the best young talents in the league, has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea.
Carroll spoke to The Metro and expressed, “We all know he needs to go to a top club. I can’t see him going outside of England, but he should go to a top-three or top-two club. I’d like to see Declan at Arsenal, to be honest. I’m not an Arsenal fan, but I like the way they’re playing at the moment.”
Rice, 22, has been an integral part of the West Ham squad, having made 33 appearances in the league this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He has been instrumental in the Hammers’ pursuit of Champions League football and his performances have caught the eye of several top clubs.
Carroll praised Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, for the way he has his team playing and their young talent. He also acknowledged the potential benefits of Rice joining a club like Arsenal, which has a rich history of developing young players.
It remains to be seen where Rice will end up playing next season, but with interest from several Premier League sides, he is sure to have his pick of top clubs.
