Collins Injera set to be inducted into Melrose Sevens Hall of Fame

The Melrose Sevens Hall of Fame will soon welcome its newest inductee, the legendary Kenyan rugby player, Collins Injera.

In a ceremony to be held on April 6th, 2023, at the historic Greenyards in Melrose, Scotland, Injera will be honored for his exceptional 16-year career with the Kenya Sevens team, during which he scored an impressive 271 tries, making him second on the all-time highest try scorer list of the World Sevens series.

In a statement, Collins Injera expressed his delight at being inducted into the Hall of Fame and his eagerness to visit the Greenyards, which he described as the home of rugby sevens. He also expressed his gratitude for the honor and stated that rugby sevens had meant so much to him over the years.

The Melrose Sevens Tournament Director, Phil Morris, also expressed his delight at Injera’s induction into the Hall of Fame. Morris described Injera’s career on the Sevens circuit as “incredible” and emphasized that the tournament organizers were looking forward to welcoming the rugby legend to Melrose.
